DAY 11: SANDIA CREST DRIVE (NATIVE AMERICAN TRIBE)
(1) ASSAULTING SANDIA PEAK; HIGHEST MOUNTAIN POINT IN SOUTHWEST.
And
(2) NOSHING WITH BIKERS AND BELLY DANCERS. Fresh pizza, beer and belly dancing for all.
[near Albuquerque NM]
SANDIA CREST is a drive tour— up the highest mountain peak in the Southwestern USA (we were told) about 2.5 miles high.
It takes a few hours because you stop and go out to observation points.
There is an old house built of bottles and cement that has become TINKERTOWN. It’s a junk tourist Mecca. π₯ΊπΆπ°
That’s one stop for gee-dunk and curios-Junkaroo There were some good people watching venues. As well.

Dinner was at an old hippy, Native American, Mexican, yuppie hole-in-the-wall local brewery. Ratty and cool. The ‘vibe’ was total acceptance and shared laughter. Great fresh pizza, beer, cider, root beer. Delish
and…of course, the ubiquitous Belly π Dancing
